Our Mission

Early Life

Mike moved to San José at the age of five. His mother raised five boys on her own, and Mike learned early in life what it means to work hard, make ends meet, and pull together as a family to make rent. He has worked every year of his life since childhood, earning everything he has through hard work and excellent business intuition.

Career Beginnings

A graduate of Oak Grove High School, Mike went on to spend more than forty-five years as a small business owner. He bought his first home at a young age by working blue collar jobs, including car repair and garage door installation with ACME Construction. He used these early work experiences to build a career through determination, skill, and long hours.

Small Business Leadership

Over the years he has owned and operated several small businesses, including a well-known automotive restoration shop, and his technical expertise has contributed to major Hollywood films such as Gone in 60 Seconds and Miami Vice. Mike has created hundreds of jobs and believes that small businesses are the foundation of a strong community.

Media & Community Impact

Mike also founded and produces a local television program that highlights automotive events, community activities, and the people who make San José unique. The show has received multiple Comcast awards along with seven WAVE awards across five states. Through his work in media and business, Mike has brought national attention to San José while supporting countless charities and community organizations.

Housing & Real Estate Experience

Through decades of business experience, local property investments, and numerous real estate negotiations, Mike has gained a deep understanding of the housing market and the challenges faced by homeowners and renters alike. During the COVID pandemic, Mike kept his doors open and protected the jobs of his employees, staying committed to his staff because he knew their families depended on him too.

Service, Charity & Community Work

Beneath Mike’s business success is a deep commitment to giving back. His charitable work is immense, and includes raising money for pediatric patients at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and founding Hot San José Nights, one of the largest car events ever held in the city. He has organized toy drives, food drives, and fundraising events for many local nonprofits. Mike is a strong supporter of our veterans and has served for 15 years on the Veterans Day Parade board. He has spent decades helping families in need and has never turned anyone away.

Mike believes every child deserves a chance, every family deserves support, and no neighbor should ever feel alone. His service has earned him the Presidential Service Award from President Joe Biden, the Pam Foley Community Service Award, the Thomas P. Ryan Hall of Fame honor, and Businessman of the Year from Senator Dave Cortese.

Love and Support

Mike’s greatest source of strength is his wife, Susan. He loves her deeply and often says that her humor, kindness, and steady support have helped shape him into the man he is today. She brings balance and happiness into his life, and he feels blessed for the life they have built together in San José.
